Joseph Green aggiunge la graziosa testa parlante di Jan (l'attrice Virginia
Leith) ai numerosi cervelli "sotto spirito" balzati sugli schermi cinematografici sulla scia del lontano successo di The
Lady and the 

Monster. Di questo film, che pesca anche nel mito di Frankenstein, si ricorderanno soprattutto
l'involontario umorismo di alcune situazioni, il bikini leopardato della modella Doris (Adele Lamont) e la testa 

nella vaschetta che anticipa singolarmente quella di Re-Animator.














In un laboratorio
situato nella popolosa città di New York, il chirurgo Bill Cortner mantiene in vita la testa della sua fidanzata Jan,
decapitata in uno spaventoso incidente stradale, con l'intenzione di 

procurarsi un corpo sul quale
trapiantarla. Il dottore non è nuovo a pratiche del genere: esperto in trapianti, ha già dato vita ad un mostruoso
uomo artificiale - da tempo recluso in una stanza segreta - e, 

adesso, grazie ad un sofisticato sistema di
cavi elettrici, teche protettive e soluzioni chimiche, sa che il cervello di Jan ha piena coscienza della situazione,
anche se lo supplica di lasciarlo morire.......
